1900 - 1930, White Kidskin Elbow Length Gloves

A pair of vintage kidskin opera gloves - if you enjoy turning up the heat on evening wear these are a staple for your wardrobe or the perfect complement to your next historical costume. These gloves are quite old and we estimate them as early 20th century, c. 1900 - 1930.

Who made these gloves?

We don't know. But that is okay. 

When it comes to vintage or antique accessories, such as hats and gloves, we have to remember that most people in the 19th & 20th century wore these accessories every day and women would have had a mix of formal and everyday gloves in their wardrobe. Because gloves, for example, were so popular they were produced by fashion houses as well as small to mid size craftspeople - consumers would have had a variety of options for purchasing gloves. With that, it is not odd to find a pair of kidskin opera gloves that do not have any branding. Branding and labels were not the chief thought for craftspeople like glove makers and milliners.
