1980s I. Magnin Wool Red Power Suit

When we first saw this powerful red skirt suit, we knew the styling had to be 1980s. Strong shoulders, luxurious hammered buttons, 100% wool. The blazer can be worn on its own over jeans and a t-shirt, while the skirt looks elegant with a blouse and pair of flats. Note, the blazer will be oversized on smaller sizes however a well made, oversized blazer is a staple in any wardrobe.

Who designed this suit?

I. Magnin

This suit is from San Francisco's iconic luxury department store, I. Magnin, and was designed and sewn in-house in the 1980s before I. Magnin closed its doors in 1994. I. Magnin pieces are rare to find on the second hand market, as many of their dresses, gowns and suit separates were made to order meaning there are simply not ample supply available to vintage shoppers.
